VRE Working Group

Addressing the challenges of Virtual Research Environments

Between 2009 and 2012 the KE Virtual Research Environments Working Group initiated a series of thematic workshops, bringing together experts around issues such as:

  • Increased understanding and implementation of VRE technologies in scientific practice
  • Greater uptake of VREs among researchers, especially in transnational collaboration
  • Better reuse and development of tools, especially interdisciplinary
  • A strategy for the future development of funding programmes
  • Informing the EU Commission on the importance of VREs to the European research area.
